Dear Families,
We are so blessed to be able to journey with you and your child on their Sacramental Journeys. Father Carlos and our Sacramental Prep team are here to accompany you and your child. Please refer to the information below which outlines the preparation process, including the role of families, classes, dates, registration information and contact information.
Role of Families: Your child’s first and most important teacher.
Some things to remember:
❖ CCC 2221 “The role of parents in education is of such importance that it is almost impossible to provide an adequate substitute. The right and the duty of parents to educate their children are primordial and inalienable.”
❖ Sacrament: An outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace. The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of our Christian life. The Sacraments of the Church are tangible signs of the sacred. The Sacraments are not only a sign of God, but they are a sign of God’s action in our world.
❖ Confirmation: The Sacrament of Confirmation helps a person remain faithful to his or her baptismal commitment to witness to Christ and to serve others. The gifts of the Holy Spirit associated with Confirmation are strengths (or virtues) that Christian living requires if it is to be fruitful and complete.
❖ Cost/Fee: $60
Preparation Commitment from Candidates and Families:
- Children and Parents: Workbook preparation at home as a family prior to first class.
- Children: Attend classes at the parish with team.
- Parents: Attend parent meeting with Father during the first class and attend mass with your child.
Confirmation Dates to Note:
○ Retreat March 18, 2023 (9 am-3 pm) - Face to Face Ministries
Reconciliation within retreat day.
○ Class April 29, 2023 (8:45 am-11:30 am) - Mass at 9 am
Families are encouraged and welcome to attend mass.
***Confirmation Sacrament Celebration: May 13, 2023 2:00 pm
with the Most Reverend Archbishop Smith***
How to Register: Visit our OLA Parish Website for information.
We are now accepting pre-registration for sacramental preparation for 2022-2023.
Please provide a copy of the Baptism Certificate if not baptized in one of our parishes.
Two Options to Register:
Registration is not considered complete without payment of the $60 fee.
- Register, pay fee and pick up the resources at the church office.
- Email completed form, etransfer fee and pick up the resources at the church office.
- E-mail forms to: olangels.ftsask@caedm.ca
(We accept e-transfer of fees to the same email address.)
